The GOAT conference booth gives open ag tech tools, organizations, and practitioners a shared physical presence at agricultural conferences. A physical box of materials travels from event to event, staffed by community volunteers and funded by the organizations it represents.

Booth Report-Outs
PASA 2024 — Feb 8–10, 2024 · Lancaster, PA
A strong showing at the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture conference. The booth distributed materials for farmOS, LiteFarm, Open Food Network, and others, drew 20 new sign-ups, and made new connections including folks from Momentum Ag and IC Foods. [Thread]
PASA 2025 — Feb 5–7, 2025 · Lancaster, PA
Greg, Mike, and Ben staffed the booth, connecting with farmers across the eastern seaboard. farmOS contributed $300 via Open Collective. After the conference, the booth is currently held by SHBS Research Coordinator Sarah Bay Nawa — the next East Coast user just needs to arrange and fund the shipment. [Thread]
CAFF Small Farm Tech Expo — Dec 2, 2025 · UC Merced, CA
Juliet brought the GOAT booth to CAFF’s Small Farm Tech Expo in the San Joaquin Valley. Notable connections included Cal.net (open-source farm sensor networks with an API suited for farmOS and LiteFarm integration), IOT4Ag (a five-institution research group including Purdue), and Riverdance Farms, whose owner expressed interest in hosting GOAT for demonstrations or research. The Foggy Farmer podcast also extended an invitation to GOAT. [Thread]
CANVAS 2025 (Tri-Societies) — Nov 2025 · Salt Lake City, UT
GOAT co-exhibited with Point Blue at this large tri-society conference drawing agronomists, soil scientists, academics, and industry researchers. Funding came from LiteFarm, Our Sci, NAPDC, farmOS, and community funds toward a $2,750 goal. Greg presented on FarmOS: Planning alongside Erika from Point Blue. [Thread]
PASA 2026 — Feb 5–6, 2026 · Lancaster, PA
Greg staffed the booth and presented an exhibitor hall session on FarmOS: Conservation Planner, gathering survey data on farmer demand. Contributions from Tech Matters, Our Sci, farmOS, and others funded the $950 booth cost. [Thread]
Coming Up: ASABE 2026
GOAT will co-sponsor a booth with NAPDC and ADC at the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Annual International Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, July 12–15, 2026. The $500 co-sponsorship is part of a $1,500 “Essential Scholarship Package” that includes one conference registration and exhibit hall tabletop space. Community member @sudokita (Indiana-based) has committed to staff the booth. A dedicated Open Collective project now exists for ongoing booth funding. [Thread]
